One of JPI Urban Europe’s main activities is to launch joint Calls for proposals. The goal is to stimulate and facilitate cross-border urban research projects attempting to find solutions to some of the major European urban challenges.
The emphasis of the JPI Urban Europe Call for proposals is on the inclusion of end users and stakeholders. It finances projects along the full spectrum of the innovation chain (i.e. basic research, applied research and experimental development).
Two joint Pilot Calls for proposals were launched and have been awarded.
The set-up and implementation of these joint Calls are supported by the Funding Agency Working Group.
On 11 december 2014 a new Call was launched: ERA-NET COFUND Smart Cities and Communities (ENSCC)
