Invitation for Commitments

European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities Operational Implementation Plan

The JPI Urban Europe has been a partner in the EIP on Smart Cities and Communities since its start in early 2013. The Innovation Partnership has since produced a Specific Implementation Plan and an Operational Implementation Plan, which will form the basis of some wider joint implementation.
On 28 February the European Commission has launched an Invitation for Commitment within European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities (deadline for submission: 15 June 2014).
You are cordially invited to take part.

Why should you submit a commitment?

Often, cities or companies have good ideas but struggle to find the right partners. This leads to delays and creates additional costs. Becoming part of the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities is all about finding the right partners, facilitating synergies between city authorities and companies together with other stakeholders so that also access to finance becomes facilitated.

Submitting a commitment offers several opportunities for learning, partnering, efficiency gains and creation of new business:

• promote your actions on a European scale
• engage with others to get new ideas and feedback on your actions
• learn from others and exchanges best practices
• partner with others to jointly achieve more and create cost savings or new business

You will find more information and supporting documents on the web site of the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities.
