JPI-illu-algemeenJPI Urban Europe is delighted to announce its upcoming conference “Transition towards sustainable and liveable urban futures” and the launching of the JPI Urban Europe Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda. The event, jointly organized with European institutions, will take place in Brussels on Tuesday the 29th and Wednesday the 30th September 2015.

SRIA: research and innovation towards tangible solutions

The Joint Programming Initiative (JPI) Urban Europe has developed a Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) with the ambition to set a scene for and ensure its contribution to a new urban research and innovation paradigm. The SRIA tackles the complexity of urbanisation by bridging the innovation space from strategic research to implementation. It promotes new ways to facilitate urban transition towards sustainable, resilient and liveable urban areas.

Broad spectrum of participants

At the event the SRIA will be presented to a wide audience of urban stakeholders in order to raise commitment of the relevant stakeholders in policy, research and innovation communities and to prepare the first steps towards the implementation of the SRIA. A multitude of European Union representatives and delegates from all JPI Urban Europe member states will be present. This broad spectrum of participants makes this conference of interest for: policy-makers; mayors; city administration; urban practitioners; urban experts and research; representatives from Member States; Brussels-based urban networks and European institutions. By bringing together this tailored group of urban stakeholders, the event ensures added value and facilitates qualitative networking opportunities.
