SUMMARY:AESOP Annual Congress 2018
DESCRIPTION:This event will offer the opportunity for scholars from Europe\, as well as from around the world\, to contribute to the exchange of experiences\, ideas and knowledge regarding planning in the 21st century\, in particular in relation to the congress theme: MAKING SPACE FOR HOPE. \nGothenburg University – Department of Conservation\, will host the congress in collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology\, Gothenburg – Department of Architecture; KTH Royal Institute of Technology\, Stockholm – Department of Urban Planning and Environment; and Blekinge Institute of Technology\, Karlskrona – Department of Spatial Planning. \nGothenburg is a 400 year old harbour city on the Swedish west coast and the second largest city in Sweden with its 550 000 inhabitants. Like many other industrial and harbour cities in the world Gothenburg has in the last few decades experienced harsh economic\, social and spatial structural change. Gothenburg is an inspiring city for those interested in urban and regional transformation processes\, with many instructive cases and good examples of innovative planning\, but also with severe challenges that planning faces today. \nRead more\nAESOP 2018
