SUMMARY:Matchmaking Event for ERA-NET Cofund Urban Accessibility and Connectivity
DESCRIPTION:The event:\nJPI Urban Europe and the Embassy of Sweden in Washington are pleased to invite you to a transnational matchmaking event where you will have the opportunity to learn more about the call\, get acquainted with fellow resarchers and stakeholders and explore the possibilities for developing a joint proposal to be submitted in this call. The event takes place in connection to the annual Transport Research Board (TRB) Meeting\, 12-16 January 2020 in Washington. A forum attracting more than 13 000 professionals from around the world with sessions of interest to policy makers\, practitioners\, researchers\, representatives of gorvernment\, industry and academic institutions. \nRegister and read more about the event\nGo directly to registration page\n\nThe upcoming call:\nThe ERA-NET Cofund Urban Accessibility and Connectivity (ENUAC)\, planned to open in December 2019\, aims at creating and testing new solutions and approaches for sustainable urban mobility. With this shared ambition\, 16 countries are pooling resources to implement a series of calls for research and innovation projects as well as accompanying measures to create highest impact. The joint calls and actions will focus on measures to improve urban accessibility and connectivity for all groups of society while moving towards more sustainable urban mobility systems. Projects within this call are expected to be co-creative and have strong stakeholder participation already from the start. The research should be based on actual urban challenges and the results should leadto new approaches\, tools\, instruments\, insights and knowledge that will bring stakeholders closer to sustainable urban accessibility and connectivity. The project results are expected to make a clear contribution to the realisation of relevant urban\, regional\, national and European transport policy objectives that can help cities\, urban residents\, communities\, businesses and institutions make the most use of new developments in urban mobility. \nLearn more about ERA-NET Cofund Urban Accessibility and Connectivity

Anna Lisa Boni has been secretary general of EUROCITIES since June 2014 and she has more than 25 years of professional experience in EU public affairs in the field of local and regional government. She has successfully worked for a stronger recognition of cities’ challenges within the European agenda. Anna Lisa has a Masters degree from the University of Bologna in political science\, and from the University of Leuven in European studies\n\n\nKatarina Larsen\, researcher at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm where she studies science\, technology\, innovation  and organisational studies of knowledge production. Recent work has focused on analysis of university-industry relations and narratives of sustainable urban futures and renewable energy. Katarina works with the JPI Urban Europe ENSCC (The ERA-NET Cofund Smart Cities and Communities) call to synthesise the project results and their impact for cities.\nJamal Shahin is a part time Research Professor at the Institute for European Studies (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) and part time Assistant Professor at the University of Amsterdam\, and holds a PhD in Politics. He lectures on European Studies and is very interested in the relationship between science and society\, and has carried out research on how to optimise dialogue between disciplines\, to ensure relevant and useful research can help critique\, design and improve policy. He works with PARENT (Participatory platform for sustainable energy management)\, part of the JPI Urban Europe ENSCC call. Jamal is part of project group that is currently looking to synthesise project results from different calls to improve impact.\n\n\nParticipants from anywhere in the world who will join the conversation through the chat room\, polls and Q&A sessions. DESCRIPTION:JPI Urban Europe will be at the cities forum in Porto 30- 31 January. Organised by the European Commission\, Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy\, and the City of Porto. The “CITIES Forum 2020 – “together we shape a sustainable urban future” is a two-day major event of the European Commission bringing together key stakeholders from European\, national and local levels.
