SUMMARY:Mid-term Meeting for PED Call II Projects
DESCRIPTION:JPI Urban Europe and the DUT Partnership invite all projects funded in the JPI UE PED Call II – Positive Energy Districts and Neighbourhoods for Climate Neutrality – and representatives from involved national funding agencies to the midterm meeting.\nThe mid-term meeting is organised back to back and jointly with the kick-off event of the DUT Call 2022 projects in Brussels on 11-12 April 2024. \nThis event provides an opportunity for project partners to meet peers from other PED Call II projects\, link to the “next generation” of PED projects and chat with funding organisations. In the mid-term event\, we will build on the experiences from the projects meeting in Copenhagen in January 2023 and put a strong focus on inter-project exchange on thematic or organisational challenges and needs. We will also build on the great work of the first-time established PED Expert Support Facility (ESF). \nDate & time\n11 April\, 12:00-17:00 (CET)\, starting with lunch and followed by an evening networking event\n12 April\, 09:00-16:00 (CET)\nLocation: Area42 | Rue des Palais 46\, Brussels and online via Zoom \n\nParts of the projects event will fully be hybrid\, with all activities being offered onsite but only some of them online.\nTarget groups: Coordinators and project partners funded in PED Call II\, representatives from involved national funding agencies and experts from European Commission.\nWe expect 2-3 representatives from each project to attend the kick-off event onsite in Brussels. We ask all project coordinators to inform your partners about this event and help us ensure a good balance between researchers and partners outside academia at the event. Additional project partners are welcome to attend online.\n\n» Register for the projects kick-off event\nRegistration deadline for onsite participation is 16th of February. Registration deadline for online participation is 1st of March. \nMake sure to make your hotel reservations well in advance since there will be many events in Brussels related to the EU presidency. \nFor questions email christoph.gollner@ffg.at

SUMMARY:JUSTICE final event: What about justice in public transit?
DESCRIPTION:The JUSTICE project\, which examined accesibility inequalities to improve city strategies\, is sharing the project outcomes in a final event on 24th April\, in Strasbourg. \nFunded as part of the ENUAC project call\, the project addressed the challenge of developing effective policy options for urban accessibility and connectivity\, involving stakeholders in the process. Specifically\, the project JUSTICE relied on the idea that intra-urban accessibility is genuinely not the same for everyone. Spatiotemporal\, but also social\, physical\, and socio-cognitive inequalities arguably reinforce the intrinsically uneven nature of accessibility. The project focused on specific groups suffering from accessibility gaps: disabled\, blind and visually impaired\, elderly and socially underprivileged people. \nThe project has used different methods to identify and address these inequalities in an inclusive city strategy in Konya (Turkey)\, Brussels (Belgium) and Strasbourg (France)\, the three urban case studies. \nIn its final event\, the JUSTICE project will bring together local politicians\, scientists and members of other Enuac projects team to discuss the project results.  \nAgenda \n8:30 – 09:45 Welcome and Opening speeches\nPolicy makers – Head of LIVE lab – JUSTICE project Coordinator \n10:00 -12:00 Keynote Talks\nWhat about Justice in Public Transit ?\nKaren Lucas & Karel Martens\nEuropean Research \n13:30 – 15:30 Projects’ Outcomes\nJUSTICE and Cousin Projects WalkUrban with\nNoriko Otsuka & EX-TRA with Paola Pucci \n15:45 – 18:00 Discussion panel\nHow to Improve PT Justice\nResearchers\, Politicians\, Associations\, Experts \nFor registration\, contact: salome.brejat@live-cnrs.unistra.fr  \nDowload the invitation: JUSTICE Event Invitation \nLearn more: Projet JUSTICE : Mesurer et exprimer les conditions de déplacement urbain pour une ville inclusive \nVisit the project page
