A kick-off meeting for the JPI Urban Europe Coordination & Support Action (CSA) BOOST was held on the 7th and 8th of October in Vienna, Austria. JPI Urban Europe was recently awarded funding from the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme in order to strengthen it’s establishment and further implementation. The resulting project called BOOST (Cooperation in urban science, technology and policy) aims to coordinate, support and strengthen the further establishment of JPI Urban Europe as well as facilitate effective internal and external communication. In total 12 partners from 9 JPI Urban Europe countries make up the BOOST consortium. BOOST’s goals include establishing an effective governance structure, addressing scientific knowledge gaps, facilitating networking, launching a Research Alliance and outreach to the scientific, policy, industry and civic actors involved in urban development.
